At War

Borussia Dortmund's player Felix Nmecha was questioned by the leadership of his soccer club for posting a condolence message regarding the assassination of Charlie Kirk. What is wrong with condoling Charlie Kirk's family? What is wrong with Charlie Kirk himself?

The public media outlets in Germany don't like him for speaking up for conservative, Christian values. That is enough nowadays to call someone a racist, sexist, Nazi, etc. And the leadership of Borussia Dortmund was apparently going along with this mainstream media narrative about Charlie Kirk.

This extreme hatred for Christian values and for believers themselves cannot be explained by human reasoning alone. There is a spiritual dimension behind it: The spirit of the Anti-Christ. This spirit does not confess the incarnation of Jesus Christ and therefore goes against all and everything that bears the name of Christ. As the end times approach this spirit increases more and more in power. It's about either following Jesus or following the spirit of the Anti-Christ.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk showed Christians that a spiritual battle is going on. Believers of Christ are in a war. But their weapons are not physical weapons. It's a spiritual battle, so Christians must fight back with spiritual weapons. These spiritual weapons - the armor of God - are listed in Ephesians 6:

  • the belt of truth,
  • the breastplate of righteousness,
  • the feet fitted with the preparation of the gospel of peace,
  • the shield of faith,
  • the helmet of salvation,
  • the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

The widow of Charlie Kirk showed how this spiritual battle must be fought by forgiving the killer who shot her husband.
