Seeing through Spiritual Eyes

Back in the days when Boris Becker won his Wimbledon titles, sometimes I watched him play tennis on TV. I still remember my mother praying for him to win during one of those games. Which raises the question if such a prayer is legit? Is God partial that He would listen to such a request and help one player to win? Or would the player or sports club who mobilizes the most prayer support win? I don't think this is the case. Having said that, I do believe that God is working through the events of history according to His purposes. And that includes, of course, sporting events as well. Let's look at a few examples through spiritual eyes:

1990 is known as "The Year of the Germans" due to its reunification. In the same year Germany also won the World Cup. I believe that this is no coincidence: God allowed the Germans to become world champions in what they are most passionate about -  that is football - in the very same year as the reunification in order to confirm that He Himself had opened the way for the reunification to happen.

On October 26, 1863, the English Football Association was founded at the Freemasons' Tavern in London. Freemasonry is a pathway into the occult. The occult is, in the long run, always destructive, always working against the purposes of God. Could it be by holding the founding meeting at this pub that the English Football Association came under the influence of the occultic, destructive powers that are ruling Freemasonry? Could it be that those spiritual forces have worked out their destructive tendencies on the field over the years, limiting the English Football Associations' success?

On November 1, 2023, the Texas Rangers won the World Series after being the only team in the Major League Baseball that didn't host a pride night. These pride nights are a mockery of the creator God. His word says that "God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." So, it looks like this judgement came over all the other MLB teams that allowed this mockery to happen.
