Spiritual Principles

In the same way the Creator placed physical principles - like the law of gravity - into the earth, He also put spiritual principles into existence. These are principles that - when applied by an individual or a whole society - will grant wellbeing and success. One of the most important principles along these lines is that all men are created equal. This principle is expressed very beautifully by the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Galatians (3:28): "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

As I already pointed out in my article "Common Lies" several years ago this principle has not always been applied throughout history and cultures, but where it has been applied by societies as a whole, it has led to greater economic success. Especially western societies, who have been transformed by Christian values to some degree in recent centuries, have founded their wealth on this principle. But the more western societies turn away from Christianity towards humanism these days, the more this principle is undermined.

One example is the agenda of the Open Society Foundation whose chairman, Soros, aims with his foundation to treat drug addiction as a disease instead of a felony and to decriminalize poverty. What seems to be at first sight a good goal with empathy for the afflicted and disadvantaged is at a closer look an attack on the principle of equality. This means in practice that certain people are not responsible for their crimes, like theft, anymore while others still are. This undermines the foundational truth that all men are equal before the law. And on a practical level: When grocery shop owners realize that their property and goods are not protected by the law anymore, they pull out of ghettos and other more problematic areas. People living in these areas have to go greater distances for their shopping. So, in the end this does not lead to improvements in the situation of poor people but makes things worse. It is no surprise, therefore, that Elon Musk recently blamed Soros of wanting to "erode the very fabric of civilization." This is exactly the outcome when people follow their own ideas that defy the spiritual principles made by the Creator Himself.
