I Am

When God spoke to Moses from the burning bush, Moses asked Him about His name. God then told Moses that His name is "I Am." When Jesus was on earth, He took the name of God "I Am" to a deeper level by adding different descriptions to it:

"I am the bread of life."

"I am the light of the world."

"I am the door."

"I am the good shepherd."

"I am the resurrection and the life."

"I am the way and the truth and the life."

"I am the true vine."

With these statements Jesus not only revealed more about Himself. But by using the name of God "I Am," in these sayings He illustrated that He and God are one. Jesus is the God, "I Am," who spoke to Moses from the burning bush and who became human more than 2000 years ago!
